B1 (CEFR) German for professional purposes

The language class "German for professional purposes" is designed for people who need to prove their ability in German language at level B1 of CEFR for the workplace. The German Red Cross, section Fulda, offers German for professional purposes B1, the class starts on September 30, 2024, and ends on December 9, 2024.
The language course consists of 160 teaching units of 45 minutes each and takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. It is designed extra-occupational and supports people already working in their job. At the end of the course, learners can earn the certification German for professional purposes B1 through an exam offered by telc. The certification is recognized throughout Europe and serves as a proof of language competence at level B1 for business.
Qualified language lecturers conduct the course for the German Red Cross. Participation costs 990.00 euros, the certification costs an additional 170.00 euros. The certification is optional, it is possible to just attend class without earning it.
The lessons (and final exam) take place in the rooms of the German Red Cross Academy at Bonifatiushaus in Neuenberger Straße 3-5 in 36041 Fulda. The bus stop "Bonifatiushaus" is served by bus lines 3, 5, 15, V02 and V20 from Fulda ZOB (central bus station) and "Stadtschloss". There are no lessons during the Hessian school holidays (14th through 25th of October 2024).

Certificate German for Business B1
The test consists of a written and an oral part to evaluate the ability to communicate appropriately at the workplace. The exam tasks cover the learning objectives in reading, listening, writing and speaking. The tasks of the written test consist, for example, of reading or listening to texts and understand content related to common situations in business. Multiple-choice tasks, the assignment of possible solutions and mediation tasks alternate in this part of the exam. For the oral part of the exam, the students communicate with each other and with their teachers. The conversations cover profession related topics, others cover private topics. The written exam must be finished in 95 minutes, the oral exam is designed for a duration of about 15 minutes.Foto: Annika Gordon
